Above is the first [possible] picture of the next-generation Porsche 911 Targa, which will meet its world debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Targa is expected to have the same engine as the base 911's in its range; possibly the Carrera 4 and 4s variants in the near future, and maybe [although unlikely] a Turbo version.
For contrast, this is a spy-shot of the approximately same angle:

A Turbo Targa? Perhaps a Turbo S Targa?
So pants. Many tight. Very sex.

Nope, we're almost 100% sure that's not it.
Targa is AWD, this render has no light bar. No Targa badges. Hoop has no Targa badge like the spy shots have. Also, look at the hoop, it isn't matched up with the body.

I heard that the hoop is supposed to be in contrasting color. So that would be the part that is legit about this image.
I agree on the AWD though.

Targas have not always been AWD.

I know, but I heard that it is 100% save that the Targa will be AWD this time. Only later a 2WD model might follow.
